Entrance Requirements

To be considered a candidate for training, all new applicants are required to complete the Guild for Structural Integration Training Application Process and pay a non-refundable New Student Application fee of $100. Structural Integration training requires a background of careful preparation of body, mind and spirit. The following requirements and suggests are designed with this kind of preparation in mind:

Experience of the Basic 10 Sessions of Structural Integration - Ten Basic Sessions of SI rooted in Dr. Rolf’s work are strongly suggested prior to the start of class. The first three sessions are required. A directory of GSI Practitioners can be found on the Guild's website or students can contact the administrator for help in facilitating such required sessions or if practical considerations preclude receiving the full Basic 10-Series. If applicants have only received the first three sessions prior to the start of training, they will be required to serve as a model during their phase II training. Student model fee is an additional $200.

 Emotional & Psychological Preparedness - Applicants must possess a mature understanding of themselves and others. We look for intellectual understanding, integration of personal insight and academic or personal experience that could assist in the Client/Practitioner relationship. College courses, individual therapy or group psychotherapy, independent seminars and workshops are a few areas in which a candidate may gain psychological awareness and understanding. Other modalities are available and may be used to prepare in this area. A candidate must also demonstrate success in life. The ability to undertake and complete a significant task over an extended period is a crucial personal skill. This may be met by obvious professional, business, educational, or personal accomplishments.

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and in possession of a high school diploma or General Education Development (GED) Certificate.

Facilities & Equipment

The Guild for Structural Integration classroom facilities are located at The Wasatch Retreat & Conference Conference Center, 75 S. 200 E, Salt Lake City, Utah. Classrooms are carpeted, well lit, and equipped with SI tables, benches, and supplies. The Guild utilizes a computer with a high-quality imaging system as a learning aid for structural analysis. For lunch storage and reheating, the facility includes a kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave, and toaster. Mornings, we provide a light snack of breads, nuts, fruit, cheeses, teas and coffee. We love our space! It is relaxing and supportive of students--a peaceful environment for learning. 

Our administrative offices are located at 150 S 600 E Suite 1A. Please contact administration to schedule a tour. 

Our Anatomy Labs are held at the Institute of Human Anatomy (IHA), 2500 S. State Street, SLC, UT 84115. IHA is a unique facility that specializes in the utilization of human cadavers as instruments for advanced anatomical education.

Learning Materials

Phase I Required Textbook fees may vary depending on student’s ability to purchase books used. Total amount for new textbooks will be $314.16 this does not include taxes and may vary depending on the student’s source of purchase. Additional handouts provided.

 Phase II and III class materials, learning aids, and Structural Integration supplies are provided in class and are included in the course fees, except when otherwise indicated in the course catalog. Course documents consist of carefully selected hand-outs and media to expand upon the Structural Integration concepts and skills explored in class. Many documents are based on class notes from Dr. Rolf's initial trainings with our founders.

 All IHA lab fees are included in tuition. The student is responsible for the purchase of their own SI table, MBLeX exam fees and state license fees after graduation.

Attendance & Conduct

Students are required to attend classes on a full-time basis (100% attendance). In the event of an absence a student must (1) notify the instructor and the school director prior to the class and (2) complete all make-up assignments for the absence to be considered excused. A student may not miss more than 10% of a course in order to pass the course and graduate. Habitual tardiness or leaving class sessions early will be discussed with the student and may be causes for probation or termination. Weekly student attendance reports are submitted by instructors to the GSI administrative office which maintains and tally’s absences for each individual student’s record.  In the event of a pattern of tardiness or absence the student is required to: (1) Talk with the school director to explain the reason for the pattern, and outline a resolution (this is a warning); (2) If a resolution is not forthcoming, the student is placed on Attendance Probation. (3) If the pattern persists or improvement is not forthcoming, the student will be dismissed.

If an unforeseen emergency or circumstance arises and a student is forced to withdraw from the program for such a reason, they may seek permission in writing from the instructor and school director to complete the training by making up the credit hours missed in a later training within a one-year time frame. Make-up assignments and scheduling is determined on a case-by-case basis.

Warning, Probation, Dismissal
Occasionally problems occur which could disrupt the educational process of students:

  • Not meeting classroom, clinic or academic/scholastic requirements (SatisfactoryAcademic Progress)
  • Showing a continued lack of commitment to the program
  • Attending class or clinic under the influence of drugs or alcohol
  • Disrupting the learning process of classmates or the teaching process of faculty
  • Inappropriate behavior, draping, or touch in or out of the class or clinic
  • Presenting a real or perceived danger to self or others, including sexual, violent, hateful or hurtful behavior
  • Not fulfilling tuition requirements as stated in individual enrollment agreements
  • Any serious problem or violation of student enrollment agreements, code of ethics or standards of practice

Some serious factors warrant immediate dismissal. However, under most circumstances, a student would receive a warning (verbal or written) to identify the problem and find a way to reach a timely resolution. If a resolution is not forthcoming, the next step is a probation notice that outlines the lack of resolution, and possible disciplinary action.

This probationary time (examples include academic or attendance probation) is to resolve the problem. If after that warning letter and probation notice a resolution is still not forthcoming, the GSI Board of Directors will discuss any remaining options to best assist the student. If there are no visible solutions, the student may then be notified of the school board’s decision to dismiss them from school. See refund policy.

 Appealing Decisions: Students placed on probation or dismissed may appeal the decision to the GSI Board of Directors if: (1) they feel the Board made an error in its decision, and/or (2) they provide new information which would reverse the Board’s original decision. The appeal letter must be written and handed in to the administration within 24 hours of receiving the dismissal notification. If the school receives the appeal letter within 24 hours, the dismissal is postponed (unless the dismissal was for inappropriate, sexual, violent, or dangerous behavior) until the appeal is reviewed and a final decision is made by an appeal panel. The school will notify the student within 10 days of its decision. All decisions are final. Students who have been dismissed may reapply for re-enrollment after 3 months, but not longer than 12 months. Re-admission will only be granted if the student satisfactorily addresses the stated problem and a letter of re-admission is issued by the school.

 Leave of Absence- Due to the intensity of study and the length of the program, the Guild for Structural Integration does not offer a leave of absence policy.

Progress Reports & Interviews

All students have an interview at the end of their course. At this time, the instructors give verbal evaluations and invite comments about the student's experience. Progress is measured by the student’s understanding of the material presented during the class discussion and by demonstrations. Instructors will submit a written report with notes regarding the student’s strengths and areas for improvement. The written report will be in the student’s file and available for subsequent teachers.


Students are graded on a pass/fail/conditional pass basis. Performance is indicated as follows: 

Pass - A “Pass” grade indicates the student’s ability to understand the material presented, successfully complete assignments, successfully demonstrate their ability to participate, and, when appropriate, complete the sessions (or massage) in a mature manner. 

Conditional Pass - A “Conditional Pass” grade indicates that a student needs further work in areas such as emotional maturity, or structural (SI) sessions, or education in anatomy/physiology, or hands-on practice before a Pass grade will be issued. During the course, the instructors and the administrator will meet with a student who appears to need further work, discuss these concerns, and continue check in with the student throughout the training course. After a final interview, a letter based on the instructors’ written report outlining concerns and conditions for course completion will be issued  The student will need to demonstrate that these conditions have been met in writing  before a "Pass" grade can ultimately be issued.  

Fail - A “Fail” grade indicates that a student did not understand the material presented, did not perform the work required, or was found to be unsuitable due to misconduct, unexcused absences, or the inability to relate to others sufficiently. A failing grade indicates that a student will need to satisfy and address the concerns, and then re-apply to repeat the course.

Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) is measured at GSI through cumulative attendance records and “passing” each course within a Phase. SAP is monitored and evaluated by GSI between Phase I and Phase II and must be maintained through Phase III to meet graduation requirements. See Warning, Probation and Dismissal and Appeals.

Graduation Requirements
To be eligible for graduation, the student must fulfill the following:

  • Pass each course, lab and clinical portion of the program.
  • Satisfy attendance requirements.
  • Sign financial agreement between the student and GSI (In-House Payments/outstanding balance).
  • Return items borrowed from the school and library.
Certificates & Transcripts

Upon meeting all graduation requirements, each student will receive a certificate and two copies of their official transcript (1 set sent to state massage licensing agency for application of graduate’s massage license and one set for student’s retention). Additional transcripts may be requested after graduation. The cost for each additional transcript is $20. Certificates and official transcripts will not be issued to students with outstanding course fees unless a signed financial agreement between the student and Guild for Structural Integration is in place. Upon graduation from the Basic Training program, students receive a packet of Structural Integration resources, including discounts on tables and supplies.

Alumni Subscriber's Fee

Upon graduating, Guild Practitioners are informed about an annual fee of $150 they will be asked to pay for ongoing professional and community support. This fee is voluntary and entitles our graduates to benefits throughout the year. The fee is waived for the first year after graduation.

Placement Assistance

Placement assistance is not available. However, upon receipt of a request for an SI Practitioner in a certain area or business, the request is posted in the Guild's online graduate forum. Please contact The Guild’s office for graduation rates and more information on our Practitioners success in the field. Many GSI trained Practitioners throughout the world are self-employed maintain a private practice with diverse clientele.

Tuition Payment

We accept payment via check, credit card, wire transfer or money order. A student will be enrolled in a course once a confirming deposit has been received, along with a $100 non-refundable New Student application fee that is required of new applicants. The confirming deposit will be applied to the total course fees. For Basic and Advanced Trainings, the deposit amount varies dependent on the type of payment plan and the Phase a student is registering for. See Payment Option Section of Catalog. Deposits for Continuing Education workshops vary and are listed on the events page of the website.

All course fees are due no later than 30 days prior to the course start date. Failure to pay fees by the due date may result in dismissal from the class, at the discretion of the school’s administration. A late fee equal to 1.5% of the outstanding unpaid amount (or $30 if said late fee is greater than $30) per month will be assessed on delinquent student accounts.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Program Cancellation

  • If an applicant is not accepted for enrollment at GSI, all monies paid will be refunded — including any deposits made.
    • The New Student Application Fee of $100 is a nonrefundable fee.
  • Applicants who voluntarily cancel their GSI enrollment within 3 business days after signing an enrollment agreement and prior to class commencement, will receive a full refund of monies paid — excluding the New Student Application Fee – which is nonrefundable.
  • Applicants who cancel their school enrollment after three business days but after the classes start, please see the refund policy.

    Please note that course offerings are subject to change, without prior notice, by action of the Board of Directors. Such changes include, but are not limited to, meeting time and location, instructor substitutions, and cancellation. Reasonable endeavors will be made to notify students of such changes and suggest alternatives when applicable. In the event of cancellation, whether at the convenience of the Guild or the student, only the course fees (tuition)will be subject to refund. The Guild for Structural Integration is not responsible for any consequential loss or expenses incurred as a result.

 Refunds/ Tuition Adjustments
The refund policy for those who withdraw or are dismissed from our program are as follows:

  • If a student withdraws or is dismissed within the first three calendar days of a program start, the enrollment agreement is considered null and void.
  • 90% of all monies paid (minus new student fee) are returned if the student withdraws within the first 1-10% of the Phase. 80% is returned if withdrawal is within 11-20% of the Phase. 70% is returned if withdrawal is within 21-30% of the Phase. 60% is returned if withdrawal is within 31-40% of the Phase. 50% is returned if withdrawal is within 41-50% of the Phase. 00% is returned if withdrawal is after 50% of the Phase.

All students are entitled to a three-business-day cooling-off period, commencing with the day an enrollment agreement with the applicant is signed or an initial deposit or payment toward tuition and fees of is made, until midnight of the third business day following such date or from the date that the student first visits the institution, whichever is later, during which time the contract may be rescinded, and all monies paid refunded (New Student Fee non-refundable).

Tax Deductibility of Fees

 Some educational expenses, including such incidental costs as books, meals, lodging and travel might be tax deductible. To learn if your training costs are deductible, consult with a relevant state or federal tax agency or your tax preparer. 

Financial Assistance

Financial assistance may be available. For students who may be unable to pay their tuition in full when they enroll in training, the Guild offers a limited amount of in-house financial aid. This is offered in the form of a deferred or interest-free payment plans to qualifying students. Refer to the Payment Option section of the catalog, which reflects confirming deposits, current tuition costs and repayment options.

Registration Disclaimer


The Guild For Structural Integration has secured a bond made payable to the Utah Division of Consumer Protection to be used for creating teach-out opportunities or for refunding tuition, book fees, supply fees, equipment fees, and other instructional fees paid by a student or potential student in the event of an unforeseen, unavoidable school closure or default.

Registration under the Utah Postsecondary Proprietary School Act does not mean that the State of Utah supervises, recommends, nor accredits the institution. It is the student's responsibility to determine whether credits, degrees, or certificates from the institution will transfer to other institutions or meet employers' training requirements. This may be done by calling the prospective school or employer.

The institution is not accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education.
